Anastasia Tsaparoglou believes that art is one
only its expression changes every day, just like our inner world.

A creative explorer, she fell in love with architecture and later transitioned into the magic of visual and verbal expressions, free of forms and titles.
She enjoys listening to people’s stories and, with empathy, turning them into simple, playful, and intuitive designs. Her art is her reflection to her nomadic life and a way to deal with the traumas and nostalgias of the past.
She designs, paints and writes poetry daily, but only began sharing her expressions in the past years — a freedom brought on by turning 40…

Icons of Control: The Virgin-Whore Complex
This body of work draws from a series of post-constructivist illustrations created in response to the poetry of Kostas T. At the heart of the project is a contemporary reimagining of Mr. Cogito, an iconic symbol of Polish literature representing the individual under communist rule.
In this reinterpretation, Mr. Cogito is transposed into the context of modern Greece—confronting the everyday realities of a society grappling with financial, political, and social upheaval. Through the poet’s lens and my visual narrative, the symbol evolves into a new voice of critique, reflection, and resilience within the framework of the Greek crisis.
What emerged naturally through this work was the need to confront and expose the slow collapse of patriarchy in Greece. This unraveling is presented with a healthy dose of irony—as both a defense mechanism and a raw, unapologetic artistic expression.
The result is a visual and poetic dialogue that captures a society in transition, navigating its identity amidst the echoes of the past and the urgency of the present.
